This is another business venture by the STAR. We have to be sure if the school carries out this programme before we decide to sponsor otherwise the newspapers will become a source of income for the school when sold to re-cycled material buyers. We must also ensure that the English language teachers are competent to carry out this NIE programme. I am not in support of PLS sponsoring. Let us instead provide enough copies for our own children in their dorms.

Dear Mother,

 

This is a great idea and it would be great that we could benefit nearby schools such as SMK Dharma etc which may not have this in place. In addition, I do not know if we could have it for our students as well.

 

By the way, I started reading newspaper in Pure Life when I was 13 years old and at that time, we had Utusan Malaysia delivered to the Senior Boys daily. And I started reading the New Straits Times when I was about 16 years old which resulted in me getting a B for my O-level 1119 without any additional class. Reading the newspaper enable me to look outside myself and appreciate my environment besides keeping me up to date with events impacting my life directly or indirectly.

Houses in Lot 431

Dear Mr Koh,

 

I have to bring to your notice on certain issues connected with the houses in Lot 431. 

 

As I was walking along Lot 431 together with the volunteers connected with the Mushroom Project, I found that all the houses have been broken in and all electrical wiring and connections have been ripped off.

 

I also discovered that one of the rooms was occupied by the security guard and this was told to me by the Bung Brothers on my enquiry as to why the room was kept locked.

 

There appears to be no security around that area as the fence around the area is found to be cut in a few places. 

 

I have spoken to Dato Kula and he advises the Administration to report immediately to the OCPD of the district.

 

Kindly treat this as urgent and pass me your draft of the letter before delivery.
